Overview U
Undersupply
An undersupply of nutrients (carbohydrates, fats, proteins, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, trace elements) can, depending on the type, extent and duration of the deficiency, lead to visible deficiency symptoms and ultimately to serious deficiency diseases. This is why needs-based and balanced nutrition is important.
However, the principle of “more is better” is a fallacy. This is because an oversupply of nutrients can also lead to metabolic problems and consequent diseases.
