Diatomaceous earth
Diatomaceous earth is the term used for pulverised, fossil diatoms. It consists mainly of silicon dioxide. Silicon (from the Latin silex, meaning “flint” or “pebble”) is a trace element required for bone formation and bone maturation. It is a component of skin, connective tissue and cartilage. Hair and hooves are strengthened by silicon, and connective tissue’s natural elasticity is improved.
