Whether for sport or leisure: anyone looking to build muscle needs the right building blocks. Our marstall Amino-Muskel supplies your horse with essential amino acids (soya-free) and vitamin E as an antioxidant. This can promote faster muscle development and a shorter recovery time.
Amino-Muskel is a grain-free protein feed for sport and leisure horses.
We chose a grain-free formula so that our Amino-Muskel is also suitable for horses that need to be fed low in starch and sugar. Our experience tells us: only when the body has all the necessary amino acids available in the right ratio and in sufficient quantities can a horse's bodily functions and tissue development perform at their best. Even a single missing amino acid can slow or reduce muscle development. It's no surprise: essential amino acids serve as a nutrient source for the musculature. However, Amino-Muskel is not only suitable for sport horses — if your horse needs to lose weight in a targeted way, or is fed on hay alone, supplementing with high-quality amino acids can also be beneficial. This applies equally to horses with particular requirements, for example those with physical challenges, naturally high muscle mass, strong bones and joints, or very abundant long hair.
Info
The digestibility of amino acids from horse hay varies between 20 and 74% (NRC, 2007). In trials with young stallions, the addition of the essential amino acid lysine alone led to significantly improved muscle development (Koslowski, 2008).
Further supplemented amino acids resulted in reduced protein breakdown in the muscle during treadmill training (Van den Hoven et al., 2010). Branched-chain amino acids increase protein synthesis in resting muscle, reduce protein breakdown, and support protein build-up during the recovery phase (Blomstrand et al., 2006).
