Senior-Plus is the perfect "anti-ageing muesli" for older and convalescing horses that can tolerate grains. It is palatable, rich in energy and highly digestible – ideal for fussy seniors or rehabilitation patients with a poor appetite. It also supports an active metabolism and helps to prevent age-related loss of condition.
Senior-Plus is a high-quality, carefully formulated concentrate feed for older horses.
Older horses have special requirements: in addition to an increased need for energy and protein of around 20 to 25%, digestion and metabolism need special attention. In Senior-Plus, we therefore use hydrothermally processed flaked grains, which provide your horse with energy in an easily digestible form. Protein-rich ingredients such as brewer's yeast, linseed meal and pea flakes support coat change, support maintain muscle mass in senior horses, and promote muscle building in convalescing horses.
Linseed also provides an extra dose of omega-3 fatty acids. Carrot flakes and apple pomace supply vitamins and dietary fibre. We have, of course, included vitamins A, E, the B complex and vitamin C, which are important for older horses. Increased levels of trace elements such as copper, zinc, iodine and selenium round off the special formulation of our Senior Muesli.
However, Senior-Plus is not only suitable for older horses, but also for maintaining the health of horses of all ages. Good to know: combined with Mash and Wiesen-Cobs, we offer your horse a complete nutritional concept of concentrate and roughage for horses with dental problems.
Tip 1
Senior-Plus can be fed soaked in warm, not hot, water. Soaked Wiesen-Cobs are a suitable roughage ration for horses with dental problems. The ration can be supplemented with small portions of Mash – which also supports digestion.
Tip 2
In cases of age-related metabolic issues such as Cushing's, Senior-Plus can be replaced by grain-free Senior-Aktiv and Mash by grain-free Bergwiesen-Mash.
