Our marstall Zucht-Aktiv is the smart alternative to the classic Zuchtmüsli – grain-free, gentle on the metabolism and perfectly tailored to the needs of broodmares, stud stallions and unborn foals. We have developed our formula to promote fertility and maintain the physical condition of both mares and stallions. At the same time, it provides for the (unborn) foal.
Zucht-Aktiv is a feed for mares and stallions that should be fed in a way that is gentle on the metabolism and stomach, and/or that are easy doers.
Our approach: optimum supply of amino acids, organic trace elements, essential minerals and omega-3 fatty acids – while avoiding excessive starch, which can lead to an excessive release of insulin. For Zucht-Aktiv, we have found suitable energy sources in fibres and oil. These do not cause insulin levels to rise and are at the same time gentle on the stomach. Pure L-lysine, soya and brewer's yeast also supply your horse with protein. Organic, readily available trace elements and high-quality vitamins complete our stud feed. Efficiency matters to us – thanks to the concentrated formula, stud horses are optimally supplied with a relatively small amount of Zucht-Aktiv.
Tip
As studies show, excess insulin interferes with the maturation of cartilage cells and therefore bone quality. An elevated insulin concentration, triggered by high starch intake per meal, can therefore negatively affect the growth, insulin sensitivity and metabolism of the foal even in the womb. It can also promote the development of OCD. For this reason, scientists recommend a low-starch and therefore grain-free feed, particularly for overweight and easy-doer mares and those with metabolic issues.

Feeding tips (please always observe)
Due to its higher content of trace elements and vitamin D3 compared to complete feeds, this feed supplement for horses may only be fed in accordance with the recommendations given here!
Ration recommendation
For feeding, we base our recommendations on the latest guidance and assume a minimum roughage intake (hay) of 1.5 kg per 100 kg live weight/day. For lactating mares and stallions used for breeding, the hay should ideally be from the early 1st cut (up to 2.5 kg hay per 100 kg live weight/day for lactating mares).
