Looking for a grain-free, low-sugar mash? Allow us to introduce marstall Bergwiesen-Mash: our palatable and particularly easily digestible recipe with Allgäu grasses supports the gut and digestion – with the ingredients that truly matter.
Our grain-free Bergwiesen-Mash produces a cold or warm porridge suitable for all horses.
Mash simply does good: for generations, stud managers have relied on warm feed portions – for example in cases of (chronic) digestive disorders, during recovery and conditioning phases, or for senior horses. With our marstall Bergwiesen-Mash, we go one step further: we have developed a warm, grain-free recipe.
The foundation of our Bergwiesen-Mash is gently warm-air-dried, finely cut Allgäu grass. It is rich in natural vital substances and provides crude fibre with prebiotic properties that promotes a stable gut flora. Gut-supporting fibres keep insulin levels low, are gentle on the metabolism and promote digestion. Your horse also benefits from linseed extraction meal and linseeds with valuable mucilaginous substances that form a protective film over the sensitive intestinal mucosa and, as soluble dietary fibre, have a positive effect on digestion. Their high protein and fat content additionally contributes restorative nutrients and omega-3 fatty acids to the mash. Brewer's grains and brewer's yeast likewise have a positive influence on the gut flora and are rich in important vital substances. Soothing and aromatic herbs and fibre-rich, palatable apple pomace round off the recipe.
Please note the preparation instructions
1 litre of marstall Bergwiesen-Mash = approximately 400 grams
Depending on the breed and weight of the horse, mix approximately 1.0 to 2.0 litres of marstall Bergwiesen-Mash with 1.5 times the amount (approximately 1.5 to 3.0 litres) of hot water (no boiling required). Leave to soak for approximately 15 to 20 minutes before feeding, then stir well and feed lukewarm (test the temperature).
For the summer version, mix the Bergwiesen-Mash in the same proportions, but with cold water, leave to soak for approximately 20 minutes and stir well.
Please always prepare marstall Bergwiesen-Mash fresh. If not completely eaten, remove feed residues from the trough for hygiene reasons. marstall Bergwiesen-Mash is also suitable for senior horses.
For feeding, we base our recommendations on the latest guidance and assume a minimum roughage intake (hay) of at least 1.5 kg per 100 kg live weight/day.
For more than 150 g per 100 kg live weight, please divide the amount into at least 2 rations. This can also be given long-term or until digestion improves. marstall Bergwiesen-Mash contains no added vitamins and minerals, so it can be added individually to any ration. If it is fed as the sole concentrate feed over a longer period, we recommend adding a mineral feed such as marstall Force.
Supplementary feed for horses
