Garlic
Garlic contains many great constituents found in the cloves of the bulb. The sulphur-containing amino acid alliin plays a particular role here – including in the typical garlic smell. Garlic, or rather alliin and its breakdown products, supports the reduction of harmful organisms in the body, the natural immune defence against bacteria and viruses, and the containment of fungi.
However, the presumed effect on worms has not yet been scientifically confirmed.
Garlic is traditionally used for the wellbeing of the digestive tract and the blood, and to support the natural regulation of blood pressure. It is also a source of natural selenium.
But as with everything: garlic should not be overdosed either, so that its positive influence does not turn negative. The harmful dose in horses is reached through continuous feeding of larger quantities of garlic flakes or fresh garlic. Please therefore observe the feeding recommendations accordingly.
