Glycine
Collagen is the structure-giving, stabilising protein in connective tissue, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and bones. More than half of collagen is made up of three amino acids: 12% of the amino acid proline, 30% of the amino acid glycine and 12-14% of the amino acid hydroxyproline, which otherwise barely occurs in the body. If you want to supply horses with increased levels of these amino acids to support collagen formation, e.g. in cartilage, you need to feed gelatine or collagen hydrolysate.
