Tailored to the needs of your good doer, our marstall Faser-Light contains neither grains nor molasses, and therefore extremely low levels of starch and sugar. This keeps insulin levels low and helps to feed your horse in a way that is gentle on the metabolism.
Faser-Light is a low-energy muesli for good doers that are in light work or no work at all.
High-quality fibres, soft timothy chaff and hay from Allgäu meadows characterise our low-energy muesli. This is important for satisfying your horse's natural desire to chew and encourages increased salivation. Thanks to the gut-supporting fibre blend, this structural feed has a prebiotic effect: during fermentation of the various fibre fractions by microbes in the hindgut, valuable nutrients are produced that support gut health and are gentle on the metabolism. These nourish the intestinal cells and provide your horse with energy without putting a strain on blood sugar levels or the insulin system.
Perfect for daily, calorie-reduced feeding: our Faser-Light contains all the essential minerals, trace elements and vitamins. In a mixed herd, our muesli also prevents feed envy, as good doers receive something in their feed trough too and have more to chew on thanks to the structural content.
Tip
Consistently high levels of starch and sugar in feed can cause weight gain and diet-related metabolic disorders in good doers that are in little or no work — such as insulin resistance, EMS or laminitis. These horses should therefore be fed grain- and molasses-free, not only as part of a weight-reduction, but as a general rule. Pasture grass can also contain high levels of sugar, which is why grazing time should be restricted where necessary.
To help maintain muscle mass during a weight-reduction feed, we recommend feeding marstall Amino-Muskel as an additional supplement.
