Animal starch
Animal starch is another term for glycogen (also glycogen or liver starch). The name derives from the fact that animals and humans store glucose, i.e. grape sugar, in the form of glycogen rather than in the form of starch as plants do. In other words: for the short- to medium-term storage and provision of energy, animals and humans require glycogen.
