For hasty eaters, horses that guard their feed, horses with dental problems, etc., we recommend feeding Gastro soaked. To do this, pour 1 litre of warm or cold water over 1 litre of Gastro and leave to soak for approximately 15 minutes.

Gastro is a gentle, grain-free conditioning muesli for horses with sensitive stomachs.
Our special and particularly palatable recipe for marstall Gastro has been developed in line with the latest scientific findings to meet the needs of horses with stomach problems, as well as nervous or underweight horses.
Our Gastro ingredients offer a lot: Allgäu hay fibres and soft timothy fibre provide a high structural fibre content, stimulating chewing activity and promoting saliva production. Together with the added bicarbonate, this buffers stomach acid. The grain-free recipe without molasses also helps to prevent excessive acid in the stomach. We have included grape pomace into the recipe to provide valuable polyphenols, with antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids offering additional support. Mannan-oligosaccharides and ß-glucans promote a natural biofilm on the intestinal mucosa, can support the immune system and bind mycotoxins. Thanks to their prebiotic effect, they are a valuable addition to our Gastro. The high content of pre-caecally digestible protein in our stomach muesli also makes it the ideal choice for underweight horses with stomach issues.
Our stable experience shows that stress and stomach problems often go hand in hand. That is why we have included an extra portion of magnesium in our Gastro. Not only nervous horses benefit from this – magnesium is also important for muscle relaxation.
Tip
Why grain-free?
Excessive acid and large quantities of feed put strain on the stomach. The breakdown of grain naturally produces acids in the stomach. In addition, grain is often not chewed thoroughly, which means less acid-buffering saliva is produced. To maintain a moderate pH level, horses with stomach problems should therefore be fed strictly grain- and molasses-free.
Why muesli and not pellets?
A high-fibre muesli such as Gastro requires far more intensive chewing by the horse than pellets. This extends feeding time, increases saliva production and enhances the buffering effect.
