Montmorillonite

Montmorillonite is a natural layered clay mineral formed by the weathering of volcanic ash. It binds toxins and allergens in the gut, which are then excreted with the faeces. It also captures free radicals (see also: Free radicals) and acts as a buffer against acids.

In human and veterinary medicine, montmorillonite is used as an ingredient in remedies for diarrhoea. It has a natural gut-cleansing effect and therefore supports the body in relieving strain.
